Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has implemented a significant cabinet reorganization, as disclosed in a letter signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, on May 5, 2025.
Under the new structure:
Energy and Mineral Resources Commissioner Seun Ashamu will now oversee the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
Environment and Natural Resources Commissioner Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure, and Transport.
Public Works Commissioner Dahud Shangodoyin will take charge of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Education, Science, and Technology Commissioner Solihu Adelabu will lead the Ministry of Establishments and Training.
Establishments Commissioner Segun Olayiwola will transition to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
The governor emphasized that the reassignments aim to enhance administrative efficiency and service delivery. In the letter, he urged the commissioners to remain dedicated to their roles, stating, “I charge you all to continue discharging your duties with the utmost loyalty and commitment to the people of Oyo State.”
The changes take effect immediately, marking a strategic shift in the state’s governance framework.
