Customs Shortlists 286,697 Candidates for CBT

According to a statement issued by the NCS National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, the service received a total of 573,523 applications for 3,927 available vacancies, which were carefully screened before arriving at the shortlisted figure.

Maiwada explained that the CBT could be taken from any location with reliable internet access, provided candidates use a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and full-screen display. He added that the test is not mobile-enabled. A facial verification process will be conducted during login, and candidates are expected to maintain a neat appearance. Since the system is sensitive to noise and unnecessary movements, applicants must remain focused, as distractions such as whispering or switching between windows may result in automatic disqualification.

To guide participants, the service will conduct a mandatory pre-test session two days before the main examination. Two separate links will be provided: one for the pre-test and another for the main test. Maiwada further disclosed that candidates applying for the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8) will undergo an additional CBT in the next phase, while this requirement does not apply to the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.

The NCS stressed that the recruitment process remains merit-based, transparent, and free of charge. Applicants are advised to follow only official communication channels for updates and to avoid unofficial platforms or individuals claiming to facilitate the process.
