The Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Abiodun Fadeyi, and his wife, Alhaja Aminat Oladepo Fadeyi, were recently honoured with prestigious Islamic titles by the Muslim community of Ona-Ara Local Government Area. During a ceremony held at Elekuro High School, Amuloko Road, Ibadan, the couple were conferred the titles Asiwaju Adinni and Yeye Asiwaju Adinni respectively.
The event also served as the launch of a ₦100 million project for the completion of a multipurpose Islamic centre and an ultra-modern central mosque in Ona-Ara. The Chief Imam of the area, Alhaji Tirimisiyu Ahmoda Rufahi, led the turbaning rites and praised the Fadeyis for their long-standing support for community development and humanitarian causes.
In his remarks, Hon. Fadeyi thanked the community for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing educational, spiritual and infrastructural development in Ona-Ara and across Oyo State. Local dignitaries, traditional leaders and political representatives were in attendance to show solidarity and support.
