In a statement issued on Friday by the family’s spokesperson, Yemi Amodu, they confirmed that the young man, officially named Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, passed away in Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness. He has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives. His departure is a profound loss to our family and to all who knew and loved him,” the statement read.
The family stressed that contrary to social media speculation, Sola did not die in a bathroom fall. “He was briefly unwell and received the best medical attention, but despite the doctors’ efforts, he peacefully answered the call of his creator,” the statement added.
They urged the public to ignore unfounded stories, noting that such misinformation not only dishonours his memory but also causes further distress to his loved ones.
The family also expressed gratitude for the love and support they have received since the tragedy, praying that no other family should experience such a painful and untimely loss.
Earlier on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, actress Biola Adebayo confirmed the sad news in an Instagram post, describing Ayomikun’s death as devastating and heartbreaking. She also prayed for God’s comfort for Peju Ogunmola and her family during this difficult period.
