The 54-year-old actor announced the tragic news on his Instagram page on Saturday but refrained from disclosing details surrounding his son’s death.
Accompanying a photo of the late child, Chatta wrote: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, dear son, champ.”
In the wake of the announcement, fans and fellow actors flooded his comment section with condolences. The sad development comes only days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola also lost her only child, Ayomikun, in Ibadan. Ayomikun, who was in his early 30s, passed away earlier in the week.
These back-to-back tragedies have cast a cloud of grief over the Nollywood industry, leaving many colleagues and fans in shock.
It will be recalled that in June, Chatta revealed he had earlier lost his first child, a daughter, years ago. He recounted how financial struggles and lack of adequate medical care contributed to her death. According to him, he was forced to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate after being unable to afford a coffin.
