His Royal Majesty Oba Abraham Adeyeye Oyerinde, Aresaadu of Iresaadu, has addressed Governor Seyi Makinde with a formal open letter, outlining long-standing grievances concerning the withholding of his official recognition, entitlements and paraphernalia of office. He warns of a “sinister plan” by certain officials to appoint a parallel Aresaadu and seeks the governor’s direct intervention to prevent further injustice.
In the letter, Oba Oyerinde says that despite his lawful appointment dating back to May 24, 2019, and a favourable court judgment dated February 2, 2021 affirming his status, the state government has failed to complete his formal recognition and release the associated allowances, vehicle and Police Orderly. He claims that, to the contrary, some state actors are moving to install another candidate without proper process, thereby threatening stability in Iresaadu.
The monarch emphasises that his installation process complied with the Local Government authority’s oversight and his nomination was certified. He notes that other newly-appointed Obas received their due entitlements, yet his case remains unresolved. He urges the governor to approve his outstanding entitlements, initiate investigation into the alleged fraudulent actions, and take steps to restore justice for Iresaadu.
Oba Oyerinde concludes by appealing to the governor’s commitment to fairness, urging swift action to release arrears and prevent the contestation of his throne—which he says will undermine public confidence and community welfare.
