Residents of the Orisunmibare community in Oluyole Local Government Area have commended the Chairman of the council, Hon. Akeem Olatunji, for initiating a road-project overhaul in their area. The community-development forum gathered at Ebenezer Primary School, off the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, to recognise his commitment to upgrading the key road network that has long been in poor condition.
During the event, Chairman Olatunji acknowledged the community’s frustrations with the road and pledged to begin palliative repairs by November or December, ahead of full reconstruction. He also addressed other local needs such as health-centre staffing and enhanced security, promising that these issues are on his administration’s priority list.
Community members applauded the promise, expressing hope that the initiative will restore access, reduce travel time, improve business opportunities and safeguard local lives. They noted that the chairman’s responsiveness signals a new era of grassroots engagement and accountability.
