Femi Otedola has lauded Aliko Dangote’s $20 billion refinery project as a transformative investment for Nigeria and Africa, calling it “generational” in its impact and elevating Dangote’s role as one of the continent’s visionary industrialists.
In his public message, Otedola emphasised that the refinery is more than a commercial venture—it represents a shift toward energy security, economic independence and industrial maturity. He hailed Dangote for turning decades of ambition into reality, declaring that the project will endure as part of Nigeria’s legacy for generations to come.
Otedola pointed to the refinery’s scale and scope as evidence of its significance. He noted that the project has already disrupted the fuel import landscape, created jobs, attracted global attention and underscores the potential of Nigerian enterprise. He also implied that the facility aligns with larger national priorities—such as moving away from raw-export dependence to domestic value creation.
He congratulated Dangote not just on the physical assets, but on the vision and persistence behind them, stating that few in Nigeria’s business history have dared to invest at such scale. He suggested that future narratives about Nigerian wealth, industrialisation and global competitiveness will reference this refinery as a turning point.
