The governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining and expanding the developmental strides of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, declaring that his ambition is anchored on continuity of good governance and enhanced humanitarian services.
According to The Sun News, Ajadi made this known during an interactive session organised by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Federal Constituency Matters at the Ministry of Trade Secretariat in Ibadan. The engagement followed a formal invitation extended to him as part of ongoing consultations with PDP governorship aspirants ahead of the 2027 election.
“I am very happy to be in your midst,” Ajadi said. “The reason I joined the PDP and chose to pursue my gubernatorial ambition on this platform is that Governor Seyi Makinde has been doing good work.
“I want to succeed him to ensure continuity of good governance and expand humanitarian services built on his legacy,” he added
Describing himself as a lifelong philanthropist, Ajadi noted that his political ideology is rooted in people-centred governance, stressing that his aspiration is driven by a desire to build on an already solid foundation.
“My political practices and gubernatorial aspiration can only thrive on a solid foundation of good governance like that of our leader, Engineer Seyi Makinde,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Federal Constituency Matters, Dare Adeleke, disclosed that Ajadi’s growing profile had been brought to his attention through multiple stakeholders, prompting the engagement.
“I first heard about Ajadi through Chief Babatunde Tijani, popularly known as Double T, while Otunba Seye Famojuro also spoke about him,” Adeleke said.
"Several others reached out on his behalf, highlighting his style of politics and humanitarian activities.”
He also commended Ajadi’s consistency within the PDP, particularly during periods of internal challenges.
A member of the advisory team, Mr Akin Alawode, Special Assistant on Oyo Federal Constituency Matters, explained that the invitation was aimed at providing Ajadi an opportunity to present his manifesto and share insights into his political journey.
The meeting forms part of ongoing consultations within the PDP as the party prepares for its governorship primaries ahead of the 2027 election in Oyo State.
