Oyo and Federal Government Launch Revolutionary Farmers' Training Center in Ibadan

The Oyo State Government, in collaboration with Nigeria's Federal Government, has officially inaugurated the South West Regional Training Centre and Liaison Office of the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) in Ibadan. This significant development marks a major step forward in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring food security across the state and nation.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Oyo State's Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, emphasized the administration's dedication to agricultural advancement. He highlighted how Governor Seyi Makinde's government has prioritized capacity-building initiatives, resulting in the training of over 3,000 farmers in modern agricultural techniques. These efforts have significantly improved productivity and sustainability within the agricultural sector.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and other stakeholders for selecting Oyo State as the regional headquarters for the South West ARMTI program. He described the newly established centre as a crucial hub for providing agricultural training and support services to farmers throughout the region.

Olufemi Oladunni, the Executive Director/CEO of ARMTI, praised Governor Makinde for his swift approval and support of the regional office. He stated that this development demonstrates the government's commitment to maintaining food security both within Oyo State and across Nigeria. As an agency under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, ARMTI is responsible for training farmers nationwide in various modern agricultural practices. These training initiatives aim to empower farmers and enhance overall agricultural productivity, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for Nigeria's agricultural sector.
