The Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State has formally reaffirmed its confidence in the security architecture established by Governor Seyi Makinde, declaring that the state remains safe and stable despite national security challenges. In a communique issued following an expanded security council meeting held in Ibadan on Thursday, the chairmen lauded the administration's proactive measures, which they credit with significantly reducing criminal activities across the 33 local government areas. This endorsement serves as a direct rebuttal to opposition narratives suggesting a deterioration of public safety, positioning the local government heads as a unified front in defense of the state's security record.

The high-level security review, presided over by Governor Makinde, brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, service commanders, and local council bosses.
