President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Decorates New Service Chiefs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially decorated the newly appointed service chiefs with their new ranks at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The ceremony marked a new phase in Nigeria’s defence leadership as the country continues efforts to strengthen its security architecture.

The newly decorated officers include General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Air Marshal Kevin Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff, and Major General Emmanuel Undiendeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

In his address, President Tinubu charged the officers to demonstrate professionalism, loyalty, and efficiency in tackling Nigeria’s security challenges. He emphasized the importance of synergy among the military branches, noting that national stability depends on a united, proactive armed force.

The President expressed confidence in their capacity to deliver, urging them to uphold the highest standards of service, discipline, and integrity. The newly decorated chiefs, in turn, pledged their loyalty and commitment to the Commander-in-Chief and to the defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty.

This ceremony follows the recent confirmation of their appointments by the National Assembly, signifying a complete transition in Nigeria’s military leadership and the beginning of renewed strategic reforms aimed at national security restoration.
