In a recent statement issued by the special adviser on information and strategy, the President has paid tribute to the late Professor Adaba, highlighting his lifelong dedication to media growth, mentorship, community service, and generosity.
The President emphasized that any comprehensive account of Nigeria's broadcast industry deregulation, communication scholarship, and the evolution of media studies would be incomplete without acknowledging Professor Adaba’s significant contributions.
He recognized Professor Adaba as a pioneering figure, noting his role as the first principal of the NTA Television College in Jos, which has become well-known for training professionals in the television sector within Nigeria and across neighboring African countries. The President also pointed out that Professor Adaba's influence on journalism practice, especially in the broadcast industry, has been profound.
Professor Adaba, a distinguished icon in the field of broadcasting, tragically passed away today at the age of 83.
