The Rafeeqee Foundation recently staged a free medical outreach in Apete, Ibadan, aimed at serving underserved segments of the community with vital healthcare support. The event brought together medical professionals, volunteers, and local leaders to deliver consultations, screenings and basic treatments at no cost to participants.
During the outreach, residents benefited from services such as blood-pressure and blood-sugar checks, malaria and general health screening, health-talk sessions and free distribution of medications. Several individuals who had delayed addressing chronic conditions said the event gave them access they could not otherwise afford.
The Foundation emphasised that the initiative aligns with its mission of bridging healthcare gaps in underserved areas and supporting preventive medicine. Organisers described the Apete outreach as part of a broader plan to expand health-assistance programmes across multiple communities in Oyo State, particularly those with limited access to medical facilities.
Community leaders at the event praised the Foundation for its timely intervention and urged more organisations to adopt similar models. Many beneficiaries expressed relief and gratitude, noting the outreach helped detect conditions early and saved out-of-pocket cost burdens.
