Hon. Engr. (Dr.) Aderemi Abass Oseni, representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has pledged to mobilise at least one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election. The commitment was made during the first-anniversary and endorsement rally of the ROCOF Progressive Workers and Traders Association in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Oseni described the ROCOF movement as “a covenant with destiny,” which has grown from modest beginnings into a powerful socio-political force operating across all 33 local government areas in Oyo State and gaining national recognition. He stated that ROCOF is aligned with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda and is focussed on rallying workers, traders and youth for broad support.
Speaking to the rally’s attendees, Oseni asserted that no amount of harassment, intimidation or political pressure would stop the movement from executing its plan. He pledged that the group is unstoppable. He also emphasised that genuine leadership under the APC, grounded in service and empowerment, will secure the people’s mandate by 2027.
Highlighting the group’s six-point agenda, Oseni noted that women are the backbone of the local economy, while youth must be prepared not only to vote but also to lead and transform their communities. He acknowledged President Tinubu’s student-loan scheme as a landmark reform that would unlock educational access for millions, drawing from his own background as someone who benefitted from earlier educational policies.
Referring to the empowerment of artisans, welders and metal technicians, Oseni credited ROCOF’s ₦100 million support in 2024 to the Blacksmith, Welders, Iron Benders and Metal Technicians Association of Nigeria for inspiring the fact that ROCOF has become a broader grassroots platform.
With his sights set on 2027, Oseni urged members to intensify voter education, PVC registration and grassroots mobilisation, pledging to uphold integrity and reject inducements. His call is a bold declaration of intent in a region where political contests are increasingly competitive and mobilisation is central to success.
