Speaker Swears In PDP’s Newly Elected Lawmaker, Folajimi Oyekunle

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has administered the oath of office to Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (popularly known as “DoN”) as the member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Oyekunle, who recently won the bye-election under the PDP ticket, will now officially occupy the seat in the National Assembly. His swearing-in ceremony signals fresh representation for his constituency.

Political analysts say this move may strengthen the PDP’s position in the House and could shift alliances, especially as the 2027 elections approach. Already, expectations are growing that Oyekunle will champion legislative priorities tied to education, urban development, and local governance.
