Tinubu Nominates Bernard Doro as Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent the name of Bernard Doro to the Senate for screening and confirmation as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The nomination, contained in an official communication from the President to the Senate, marks another step in Tinubu’s ongoing cabinet adjustments. According to reports, the new nominee is expected to fill one of the ministerial vacancies created by recent resignations and political realignments within the administration.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the letter during plenary, confirming that the upper chamber will begin the screening process in the coming days. Lawmakers are expected to assess Doro’s background, professional qualifications, and his potential role in the Federal Executive Council.

President Tinubu’s nomination of Doro comes amid renewed public scrutiny of his cabinet’s performance. Many Nigerians have called for a reshuffle to inject new energy and competence into key ministries. Political observers note that the move could signal Tinubu’s intent to strengthen his policy team ahead of the 2026 midterm political cycle.

If confirmed, Doro will join the ranks of ministers responsible for implementing the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which emphasizes economic recovery, job creation, power sector reform, and national unity.
