Aston Villa manager Unai Emery expressed optimism regarding Marcus Rashford's potential return before the end of the season, despite a recent hamstring injury that has sidelined him. Rashford sustained the injury in the lead-up to last week's FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace, and Emery confirmed that he will be out for several weeks.
With only four Premier League matches remaining, starting with Fulham's visit to Villa Park on Saturday, there were concerns about whether Rashford would play again during his loan spell from Manchester United. However, Emery hinted that there is still a possibility for Rashford to contribute in the final stretch of the season as Villa aims for Champions League qualification.
“For tomorrow (Saturday), he is not available,” Emery stated. “He is focused on his recovery, but it will still take several weeks before he can join us again for the remainder of the season. With four weeks left, we hope he can participate in one or two matches.”
Emery emphasized the team's desire to finish the season strongly, stating, “We don’t want to end the season early. We are eager to keep playing, and hopefully, Rashford can assist us. He is recovering with us here, and I want to see him happy, contributing to our goals. After the season, we can discuss his future.”
